REDDING, Calif. - Ballot counting continues in Shasta County after a power issue overnight temporarily brought operations to a stop at the elections office in Redding. Just after midnight Wednesday, the Shasta County Elections Office went dark after losing power, halting ballot counting for more than an hour and a half. Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis says the problem stemmed from an electrical box that shuts off and back on each night at midnight.

REDDING, Calif. - Redding Regional Airport's nonstop United flight to Denver has exceeded expectations after 1 year of service. Airport officials say the route has become one of the airport's biggest success stories. The nonstop flight to the Mile High City took off last May after local leaders worked to secure the service with a 2-million-dollar guarantee funded through city and county money, private contributions and grants.
