Medford fentanyl dealer sentenced after fatal overdose investigation
MEDFORD, Ore. - A Jackson County man was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl. Eduardo Cortes Cortes, 28, was sentenced to 67 months in federal prison and four years of supervised release. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon, the case began with a fatal overdose investigation in July 2022.
Klamath River mapping begins as salmon return after dam removal
OREGON - The Yurok Tribe Fisheries Department and Condor Aviation will begin flying low-elevation helicopter missions Tuesday to map 257 miles of the Klamath River from Lake Ewauna to the estuary. The helicopter is equipped with high-resolution remote-sensing instruments to capture bathymetric and topographic data. The information will be used to evaluate how the river changes in response to the recent removal of four dams near the California-Oregon border.
