Organelle associations and metabolic rewiring of size-defined hepatic lipid droplets
Abstract Lipid droplet (LD) size is a key determinant of hepatic lipid metabolism, yet the molecular programming routing size-defined subpopulations to distinct fates remains unclear. Here we show that a fractionation workflow resolves hepatic LDs by size and organelle association, defining a high-confidence intrinsic LD proteome.
Rigid polyanion architectures enable multiple ion-transport pathways and nanocluster dynamics in composite polymer battery electrolytes
Abstract The effective use of polymer electrolytes in lithium metal batteries is tied to the molecular design and topological control of the polymer to simultaneously achieve high ionic conductivity, robust mechanical modulus and low interfacial resistance at the electrode interface. Here we introduce a composite polymer electrolyte design strategy based on tailored interactions between rigid polyanion architectures and lithium-containing ionic liquids.
Effect of fulvic acid contamination on the shear strength and microstructural evolution of red clay
Abstract The influence of fulvic acid (FA) contamination on the residual shear strength of red clay is an important issue in geological engineering. This study examines the effects of FA contamination on the shear strength, mineral composition, and microstructural changes in Guilin red clay using drained repeated direct shear test, along with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and particle and pore structure analysis system (PCAS).
Multi-ancestry transcriptome-wide association studies uncover insights into breast cancer genetics and biology
|
Abstract Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified over 200 genetic risk loci for breast cancer, yet their target genes remain largely unknown. We conduct multi-ancestry transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) to discover potential breast cancer susceptibility genes.

Development and Applications of PVA‐SbQ Hydrogels for Advanced Biofabrication
1 Introduction Biofabrication, or 3D bioprinting, is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates biology and engineering to construct tissue-like structures layer by layer using additive manufacturing [1, 2]. Unlike conventional manufacturing, it enables the creation of customized, functional constructs that mimic the architecture and properties of human tissues and organs.
Mixed-model and transcriptome-wide association analyses identify transcription factors and genes associated with colorectal cancer susceptibility - Nature Communications
|
Abstract Susceptibility transcription factors (TF) whose DNA bindings are altered by genetic variants regulating colorectal cancer (CRC) risk genes remain poorly defined. Using generalized linear mixed models, we analyze 218 TF ChIP-Seq datasets alongside GWAS data from 100,204 CRC cases and 154,587 controls of East Asian and European ancestries. We identify 51 TFs and TF-cofactor interactions, including VDR-cofactors, as key regulators of CRC risk.

Integrative multi-omics reveals microbial genomic variants driving altered host-microbe interactions in autism spectrum disorder
Results A total of 270 children were recruited in this study. All participants underwent detailed clinical assessments and provided fecal samples for integrative multi-omics profiling. The discovery cohort consisted of 102 children diagnosed with ASD and 99 age- and gender-matched TD controls, from whom stool samples were subjected to shotgun metagenomic sequencing and untargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based metabolomic analysis.
Single‐Position Peptide Clustering for Peptidomics Reveals Novel Disease Biomarkers and Dysregulated Proteolytic Characteristics
1 Introduction Once regarded merely as a subset of the proteome, the peptidome is now recognized as a distinct molecular entity with unique biological relevance.[1] Endogenous peptides arise either through proteolytic processing of precursor proteins or via direct translation from small open reading frames.[2, 3] While some peptides, such as neuropeptides,[4] exert defined physiological functions, most have historically been dismissed as metabolic byproducts or “waste” due to their apparent...

BRICS-Based Generation and AI-Assisted Screening of Ionic Liquids with Mechanistic Insights into Lithium Transport in Electrolytes
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Ionic liquids (ILs) are promising electrolytes for sustainable energy storage devices owing to their low volatility, nonflammability, and excellent electrochemical stability. However, the data scarcity of IL has hindered the rational design for diverse applications.

In the present study, an efficient and rapid method using ligand-enzyme complex was established for screening the active compound of lipase from Toona sinensis.
Noncoding RNAs in subchondral bone osteoclast function and their therapeutic potential for osteoarthritis
Abstract Osteoclasts are the only cells that perform bone resorption. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) are crucial epigenetic regulators of osteoclast biological behaviors ranging from osteoclast differentiation to bone resorption. The main ncRNAs, including miRNAs, circRNAs, and lncRNAs, compose an intricate network that influences gene transcription processes related to osteoclast biological activity.

Review Donor cell-derived haematological neoplasms after allogeneic haematopoietic cell transplantation: recommendations from the EBMT Practice Harmonisation and Guidelines Committee
Section snippets Definition and epidemiology DDHN is usually defined as a de-novo haematological malignancy originating from transplanted donor haematopoietic stem cells and is unrelated to the original recipient's neoplasm.2, 12 DDHN most often manifests as a myeloid disease (eg, AML, myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasm, or myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm) but lymphoid neoplasms can also occur.13, 14 Heterogeneity in definition, detection methods, and...
