Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) is a unique diagnostic tool; however, its effectiveness for high-risk populations remains unclear. Methods This retrospective study included 642 ICU patients with pneumonia unresponsive to initial treatment, categorized into single- or repeat-test groups based on mNGS testing frequency.

Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality, with epidemiological patterns indicative of androgen signaling involvement. We establish androgen receptor (AR) as a pivotal oncogenic factor in GC and provide preclinical validation for its therapeutic targeting. AR expression was significantly elevated in GC tissues and correlated with adverse prognosis across ten independent cohorts (n = 1740).

Abstract Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture combined with manipulation for relieving pain and improving function in patients with lateral epicondylitis (LE). Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving patients with LE were retrieved from eight Chinese and English databases from inception to January 1, 2026. The risk of bias of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4.1 software.
