TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A heated debate over public safety and privacy took center stage Monday night in Tiverton. The Town Council approved its new budget, but not before a lengthy discussion about whether to add more Flock cameras to its roads. Tiverton currently has two of the cameras installed, and the new budget includes funding that could be used to expand the program. The cameras automatically capture license plates and other information as vehicles pass by them.
