Baubles, whose hiring was finalized on Thursday, was a three-sport athlete in high school at Wall and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers. He spreads the credit around for his development as both a man and a coach. There were his supportive parents. There were the three Hall of Fame head coaches he played under.

Bob Grace was a human rumor mill. When it came to the high school sports in the Shore Conference, he had more information on the Q.T. than a New York tabloid or on an FBI wiretap. Like a priest in a confessional, Grace was someone people could tell anything. That was his gift. Friendly, outgoing, humorous, Grace was one of those people a mime could talk to. He was a master storyteller, too. His accounts were always better than the original, though.

It will be another summer of discontent for some New Jersey wrestling teams. The NJSIAA released its district alignments for the 2026-2027 season on Tuesday and as sure as waves reach the Jersey Shore, there will be teams unhappy with their placement. “There is no system that will make everyone happy,” said Howie O’Neill, chairman of the NJSIAA Wrestling Committee, echoing what has become an annual statement.
