Oscar Viteri is coming home. Viteri has stepped down from his post at Glen Ridge and taken the job at nearby Livingston, his alma mater. Viteri is taking over for Brian Carr, who stepped down after leading Livingston to its first Group 4 state title in program history. Viteri led Glen Ridge to three Group 1 state championships and 10 sectional titles over the course of 26 seasons. After he heard the news that Carr had resigned, Viteri still intended to return to Glen Ridge for the 2026 season.

A state wrestling champion from the Shore Conference is heading to one of the nation’s most prestigious universities. Middletown North’s Thomas Blewett, the 2026 NJSIAA 106-pound state champion, has committed to Brown University following his historic junior season. The rising senior announced his college decision in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
