We read with interest the Series paper by Elliot Israel and colleagues on current biologic treatment options in severe asthma.1 The authors use blood eosinophil count thresholds—in addition to assessing comorbidities—as the main basis for their algorithm to select a targeted biologic treatment. Furthermore, they compare the efficacy of biologics in clinical trials based solely on a blood eosinophil count threshold of 300 or more eosinophils per μL.
