New today at 11:07 pm Published July 31, 2026 11:59 pm The Local Alert Weather Team has issued a Local Alert Weather Day for today, Saturday August 1st. Most of Central Oregon will be under a Red Flag Warning for high fire danger. The National Weather Service has placed a "PDS" tag on this Red Flag Warning. PDS stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation, due to the several wildfires that are already burning.

Most of Central Oregon will be under a Red Flag Warning for high fire danger. The weather conditions Saturday will be warm, dry and windy. These three aspects to the day will provide the perfect environment for rapid fire growth if a new fire is started and/or if a fire is already burning.

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – After a pleasant mid-summer day Thursday the region will be heating up Friday. The mercury in the thermometer will cross back into the 90s most locations which increases the fire danger in the area. The hot air will only be with us for one day before some clouds arrive ahead of a cold front on Saturday. The cold front will be moisture starved but will generate some gusty winds as it crosses the state. Expect to see partly cloudy skies Saturday with highs in the middle 80s.
