Who is John Galt?
Maybe I should introduce myself and what I intend to do. Let's do that. John Galt is one of the core characters of Ayn Rand's 1957 novel "Atlas Shrugged''. I will not spoil the whole story, but if you plan on reading the novel (you definitely should, in my opinion) and are very sensible about such things, just skip to the next section. For the purpose of my presentation, I'll just say that John Galt is a young and talented engineer who saw what was wrong with the world when nobody else saw it.
