For the first time in three decades, Walt Disney World’s Carousel of Progress is getting a major overhaul. Disney previously announced that the Magic Kingdom attraction would be getting an animatronic of Walt Disney as part of a “brand-new introductory scene,” but didn’t say what would be happening to the rest of Carousel of Progress, which last received a major renovation in 1994. Universal Kids Resort gets opening date

Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas will officially open on July 1, expanding Universal’s theme park empire to include a smaller, more kid-centric experience compared to its previous projects. The 20-acre park (which had been sized at 32 acres in previous Universal press releases) will have seven themed lands, as Universal revealed last year: Shrek’s Swamp Puss in Boots Del Mar Minions vs.

Failed health inspection temporarily closes Busch Gardens Tampa Bay restaurant

Health inspectors have temporarily shut down a restaurant at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay after finding “rodent droppings” in multiple areas. The offending restaurant is Zagora Cafe, a quick-service location in the park’s Morocco section near the front entrance. According to a state inspection report, a May 26 inspection found “19 rodent droppings” on the floor of a storage room, along with droppings on shelves, the kitchen floor, underneath the front counter and on canned goods.
