Earlier this week the Chinese Ministry of Commerce put out a press release threatening sharp escalation in the trade war. The choice part of the translation is as follows: Before those measures were introduced, China notified the U.S. through bilateral export control dialogue mechanisms. In contrast, the U.S. has long overextended the concept of national security and abused export controls, adopting discriminatory practices against China.
