Bighorn, Big Fish
The Bighorn River has provided magnificent fishing over the years. One of the most fertile rivers in the West, it’s loaded with aquatic plant and animal life in cold, clear water. The Bighorn wanders through a gentle valley in the wide-open high-plains country east of Bozeman. The Bighorn Mountains, a large range that rolls away into Wyoming, adds to the spectacle.

Years later, Mingo would play again, for the love of golf and his first love: his wife, Lana. 38 years into their marriage, she passed after a valiant fight with a rare form of cancer.

Best in show | Advertisement for Bovril, 1930s, Museum of Brands, London
Alice Kain Curator at the Museum of Brands, London “I like this advertisement because of the mix of messages it sends. It shows a beautiful woman in an elaborate athletic pose, reflecting the time when people were flocking to join in with the new craze of ice skating, thanks to the young Princess Elizabeth having learned how to do it. Meanwhile, the ‘hockey-sticks’ language of the period intriguingly reveals that Bovril was being sold as a health drink.

Him: A Marine veteran who landed near Philly in law enforcement, eventually becoming a small town police chief. She was a daughter raised on Philadelphia sports.

Finding peace and fish away from the crowds on lesser known waters. As the years pass, I find myself spending more and more time on the little creeks tumbling out of Montana’s mountain ranges. Unlike many big-name rivers, justly famous for their large trout but suffering from the near-gridlock of rafts and driftboats, the diminutive headwater flows offer isolation and serenity.

Each was specially created to match what the customer wanted, but when those guests asked how they could get the scent for their homes, they were told it wasn’t available for them to buy.
