He holds a degree in Geology and has worked as a petroleum geologist and oceanographer. He has spent the later part of his career as a risk management specialist in simulation training technology and counter-terrorism.

While President Goldfinger continues to foist his ballroom on American taxpayers, reports of depressed sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln stationed in the Middle East for over nine months jumping overboard for lack of morale, toothpaste, and medical supplies is troubling. They may be out of bombs too, so I wouldn't sweat the toothpaste. Meanwhile, gutless bastards like Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana continue to disappoint.

Although much of this story tracks contemporary events and the fateful consequences of politics, "George" represents a voice of reason and thoughtful logic. He is also used as a vehicle for the preternatural this story embraces, and as licence for the fiction that is blended into this tale.
