As if things couldn’t get worse for the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, they appear to have lost outfielder Jesus Sanchez to injury. With the Blue Jays trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Baltimore Orioles, the 28-year-old exited the ball game with what seemed to be a right arm injury. Sanchez appeared to have been struck by a ball thrown from a fan in the stands of Camden Yards.

Aggressive driving, racing leaves man critically injured in Hwy 401 west crash in Mississauga

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck by one of several vehicles police say was racing on Highway 401 in Mississauga. Ontario Provincial Police say just after noon on Sunday, a pickup truck with a trailer was on the shoulder of the westbound express lanes of the highway near Renforth Drive when two vehicles who were reported “driving aggressively and racing with one another” struck the man who had gotten out to inspect his load.

Parents scrambling as Mississauga school announces imminent closure

More than 150 families have been left scrambling after a Mississauga school suddenly announced it will not reopen in September. ABC Montessori private school says it was forced into the decision after recent zoning enforcement action from the city. Dozens of parents rallied in support of the school on Friday afternoon, saying their only options are to either save the school or try to find new schools months after most enrollment periods have closed.
