On Thursday night, the second episode of the four-part documentary “Proving Grounds: Preseason with Virginia men’s basketball” made its debut online and on local TV station WAHU Fox 27. While the first episode of the series served as an introduction to many of the new faces in the program, the second episode offered a more in-depth look at the players and coaches as they prepare for the first season of the Ryan Odom era at UVa. District play has arrived and that means the stakes start getting higher as we close in on the halfway point of the regular season. It’s Week 5 of the high school football season in Central Virginia, and in addition to district openers for many public school teams, this week’s slate also includes several high-profile private school matchups, including a rematch of last year’s VISAA Division II state championship game.

Kickoff time set for Virginia football team's ACC road opener against Louisville

The kickoff time for the Virginia football team's ACC road opener against Louisville has been set, but the TV designation is still to be undetermined. On Monday, the ACC announced that the matchup between the Cavaliers and Cardinals will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. The game will air on either ESPN2 or ACC Network. A final decision on which channel the game will be broadcast on will be announced following this Saturday's games.
