Neither Confirm Nor Deny
By John Ware British Intelligence, Lawless Agent Running and the Suppression of Truth ‘The State is assassinating people.’ These were the chilling words said to have been sent to Tony Blair in 1999 in a damning note bluntly summarising one of the consequences of Britain’s decades-long intelligence war in Northern Ireland. State forces had crossed a line, guided by a secret review from 1980 that quietly rewired Britain’s war, placing intelligence gathering above the law.

Why BBC Panorama did not mislead the public on Trump
At 6pm last night, BBC Online reported: “BBC director general Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness resign over Trump documentary edit.” The documentary is, of course, the suddenly much-vilified BBC Panorama one hour special “Trump a Second Chance?”, transmitted a year ago on the eve of the 2024 presidential election. Not for the first time the BBC, regrettably, has shot itself in the foot.
Legacy of terror: the net closes on the IRA
Several prime suspects responsible for the spate of IRA bombings and shootings in Britain from 1974-1976 — a campaign of terror that left 52 people dead and some 800 injured — have been identified, according to legacy investigators in Belfast. The suspects, now in their 70s and 80s, have been linked to the attacks from forensic evidence subjected to new scientific testing ordered by the Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery in Belfast.
Boutcher vs Benn: a legacy of conflict in the courtroom
Out of sight and certainly out of the minds of the rest of the United Kingdom, a constitutional crisis is rumbling away in Northern Ireland that ought to matter to everyone. To the Northern Ireland Office, the Chief Constable of the PSNI, Jon Boutcher, has had the effrontery to challenge MI5’s veto on what information should be disclosed to the families of relatives who were murdered with the involvement of state agents.
OPINION: Lost for words, torn between silence and sorrow
For 19 relentless months, the Jewish community in the UK and across the world has lived with the raw, unceasing anguish of the Gaza conflict. That anguish has been constant but in recent days, as Israel intensifies its campaign, it has deepened. Something has shifted. The days feel darker than they have ever been.
The killer spy, the MI5 cover-up and the feud at the heart of the British security establishment
Almost exactly a year ago, on April 23 2024, Northern Ireland chief constable Jon Boutcher headed to Westminster to answer MPs’ questions about Operation Kenova, his long-running investigation into the rogue double-agent codenamed “Stakeknife”. What the MPs did not know as he settled in to face their questions was that Boutcher was sitting on an explosive secret reaching to the heart of the British security establishment.

What has the IDF done to Gaza — and to itself? | TheArticle
Member ratings This article has not been rated yet. Be the first person to rate this article. If there is a hostage-ceasefire deal in Gaza, what will Israel and Hamas have achieved after 466 days of fighting? Hamas’s military and political leadership has, for sure, been greatly weakened. Yet, with some 9000 surviving fighters, recruitment outpacing losses, and many tunnels still operative, Hamas is far from being destroyed as a fighting force. It also still controls most of Gaza’s population.
OPINION – JOHN WARE: Just how deep do UNRWA’s Hamas roots go? - Jewish News
Last week, the IDF announced it had eliminated a Hamas Nukhba commander responsible for the massacre of Nova music festival goers hiding in a bomb shelter. Seven times Mohammad Abu Itiwi and his men tossed a grenade into the shelter and each time it was heroically thrown back. On the eighth attempt, Itiwi succeeded in killing some of his unarmed prey. His blood lust still unsatisfied, several more grenades were thrown in, the fuse time getting shorter until there was a second explosion.
SPECIAL REPORT: Axis of resistance versus light unto the nations – a battle for civilisation - Jewish News
Last week, listeners to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme heard a Tehran-based academic, Professor Mohammad Marandi, say that the current Israel regime “believes they are a chosen people. They have exceptional rights, and therefore they have exceptional rights to the whole region. It’s not just Palestine today. It goes beyond the borders of Palestine.” His interviewer Mishal Husain was criticised for not challenging him.
OPINION: We Will Dance Again shows why the BBC must correct how it refers to Hamas
At 9pm on BBC2 tonight, viewers will be given a 90-minute insight into the paralysing terror experienced by young Israeli partygoers as they fled Hamas’s genocidal assault on the Nova music festival – one of multiple sites Hamas attacked almost a year ago. The documentary, Surviving October 7th: We Will Dance Again, is mostly footage from the cell phones of survivors, their testimony, CCTV footage, dash cams and the go-pro cameras of Hamas.
LIES AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES ARE NOTHING MORE THAN POLITICS AS USUAL…IT’S JUST “NEXT LEVEL”
I’ve been around long enough — I’ve followed politics pretty closely, first as a kid in the 1950’s, then all the way through my coming of age years the next decade, and then beyond — to know that what we are seeing now with lies, conspiracy theories, and what weak journalists call “saying the quiet part out loud” as being nothing more than taking lying and deception to the next level. What do I mean by this?
Old Faithful –
The Old Fashioned is as old as cocktails themselves—in fact, the earliest known description of a cocktail is essentially a recipe for an Old Fashioned: spirit, sugar, water, and bitters. “It was first recognized in print in 1805—people would ask for ‘an old fashioned-style drink’ and that’s where it got its name,” says Ryan Andrews, beverage director of GBOD Hospitality Group and lead bartender at Prohibition in San Diego.
OPINION: The IDF's ethical code cannot become another casualty of this conflict
Yes, terrible mistakes happen all the time in war. In that sense, the IDF is no different from any other modern army – except that in the IDF’s case its latest mistake has done serious damage to the ethical doctrine it values most. That doctrine is called “Purity of arms” and it is embodied in what the Israel Defence Forces call “The spirit of the IDF”.
OPINION: In war civilian deaths are inevitable. Starvation is not.
I am not a Jew, but I understand how isolated and bewildered many Jews now feel at the ebbing away from non-Jewish friends of empathy about how it feels to be Jewish in Britain today. Jews have always known that antisemitism is a light sleeper but perhaps not how easily it can be roused from its slumber. And 7 October has been a huge wake up call.
A Typical Politician’s “Mind-Manifesto” Explaining Why They are Not Acting on Climate Change
Today’s politicians are communicating a specific message, which belies the fact that what a politician usually says necessarily does not equate or manifest itself into what he or she eventually does or acts upon. Having said that, our “elected representatives” are indeed sending us a direct, unmistakable message on many important subjects of concern for not only the United States, but the world itself.
Stakeknife: the spies, the dirty war and the inquiry
Prising open the secrets of how the British agent known as “Stakeknife” was run as a spy in the IRA has been a battle of wills between the State and the police inquiry, Operation Kenova, that has spent several years trying to get at them. The result is that the much anticipated report by that inquiry — due to be published tomorrow — may raise as many questions as it answers.

Israeli PM 'missed chance' to cut off Hamas cash, says ex-spy chief
Israel's prime minister missed the chance to starve Hamas of cash, years before its murderous attack last October, according to a former senior Israeli intelligence officer. Udi Levy has told BBC Panorama he advised Benjamin Netanyahu to target Hamas's finances. He believes this would have hampered the group's military build-up, but says the intelligence was not acted upon. The Israeli prime minister's office has not responded to the allegations.
I’M SEEING A LOT OF ARTICLES ABOUT ROCK AND ROLL BEING JUST FOR THE YOUNG. UH, NO.
I don’t know why the concept of rock and roll being for the young is a thing all of a sudden; I mean, Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney were around 70 yrs of age ten years ago and around 60 years of age twenty years ago, so what’s up with this? Many of these pundits actually have the gall to say that these old-timers should “exit the stage” gracefully, at least by age 55. WTF is up wid dat? (granddaughter approves of street slang).
THE MAINSTREAM (AND NOT-SO-MAINSTREAM) MEDIA COULD BE DOING MORE - LOTS MORE - TO SAVE DEMOCRACY. HERE ARE SOME IDEAS AND MUSINGS…
’Tis the time of year for “year-end reflections.” Things we did, didn’t do or could have done if we weren’t so busy doing things that we didn’t have to do but thought we had to do because we thought other people were doing them so we had a FOMO, ya know? I’d like to focus the limelight on our vaunted Fourth Estate.

Impact of treatment of hyperkalaemia on quality of life: design of a prospective observational cohort study of long-term management of hyperkalaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease or chronic heart failure in Japan
Methods and analysis This is a multicentre prospective cohort study that began in January of 2022 and is expected to continue until the end of March 2024. Patients are being recruited from nephrology and cardiology subspecialty outpatient clinics in Japan. All participants are at least 20 years old, have either CKD (stage G3 or higher) or CHF (New York Heart Association classes II–IV), are receiving PBs, and began receiving those PBs no more than 6 months before they entered the study.
7 October and the Alt-Media: a critical examination
tweet share email print Ebook version available here: DOWNLOAD EBOOK For Jews everywhere – not just Israelis – the denial that Hamas committed atrocities on 7 October has a familiar historical ring. Yet it is a fact that Hamas and their supporters have insisted their ‘fighters’ did not massacre music festival goers, or rape women, or ill-treat hostages. Direct to camera, one Hamas Politburo member after another has flatly denied that the Qassam Brigades did any such things.
OPINION: Home Office has ignored police chief's demand to address street extremism for almost THREE years
Imagine being the Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley today as he gets a dressing down from the Home Secretary about why his officers didn’t arrest a member of the extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir chanting “Jihad, Jihad, Jihad” during Saturday’s pro-Palestinian demonstration. Next to the man was a banner saying “Muslim Armies.” The Met and the CPS have both said the law was not broken. Rowley could be forgiven for wanting to tell Suella Braverman to get the hell out of his office.
The BBC and Hamas: the perils of impartiality
Ministers, from the Prime Minister down, demand that the BBC call Hamas for what they are: terrorists. The BBC refuse – and yet its current terminology, “fighters” conveys a perverse and surreal sense of nobility to the most barbaric acts of terrorism imaginable. Even “militants” doesn’t do justice to the depravity of Hamas. Still, the BBC seeks to hold the line on how it defines due impartiality in this new and perilous phase of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Jeremy’s friends: Hamas and its cheerleaders
The Israel-Palestine crisis is following a familiar pattern. When Israel suffers a terrorist attack, it typically gets a grace period, which almost immediately fades with the graphic reports of spiraling deaths from Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. This time, Israel’s grace period will last a little longer because of Hamas’s house-to-house butchering of Jews — over 1200 and counting — including the slaughter of young Israelis at a music festival and reports of babies being beheaded and burned.
State faces loss of knowledge, expertise
The termination of Eric Blinman, longtime director of the New Mexico’s Office of Archaeological Studies, by Secretary of Cultural Affairs Debra Garcia y Griego has generated a raft of protests from around the state. Letters and calls have come in from current and former department employees, from board and foundation members, and from donors and volunteers who actively support the department’s missions.
OPINION | Letter to the Editor: Vote 'Yes' for our schools and our community
Dear editor: As a voter in Livingston Parish, you will have an opportunity on March 25, 2023, to support education in a huge way. Our teachers, as well as bus drivers, cafeteria workers and janitors need support. This vote is a “No Brainer” if you think it completely through. As a longtime economic development professional, I know this ‘One Cent’ sales tax will recirculate many times within Livingston Parish. The educators and staff will spend it in Livingston Parish.
OPINION: How Jeremy Corbyn’s cantankerous cronies failed to rewrite history
John Ware took Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, the group Jewish Voice for Labour and a pro-Corbynite journalist to court for defamation over his 2019 BBC Panorama exposé on antisemitism. In the second of two articles, he reveals how Al Jazeera failed to understand issues highlighted in the Panorama report and did not give those it accused a proper right of reply.
OPINION: Denied a right of reply, I’ve now won my libel case against Corbynite accusers
John Ware took Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, the group Jewish Voice for Labour and a pro-Corbynite journalist to court for defamation over his 2019 BBC Panorama exposé on antisemitism.
Rewriting history: Corbyn’s Labour Party, antisemitism and ‘Panorama’
The UK is facing economic meltdown. The world may be heading for nuclear Armageddon. Supporters of Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, have been preoccupied with salvaging his reputation over the antisemitism crisis that dogged his leadership for more than four years. Did Corbyn or his office interfere politically in antisemitism disciplinary cases when he was Labour leader — or did they not?

Has the Prime Minister misled Parliament over statistics?
Boris Johnson’s assertion to Parliament on Monday 31 January that his Government had cut crime “by 14%” between September 2019 and 2021 was misleading, the head of the UK Statistics Authority, Sir David Norgrove, has said. This is yet another rap across the prime ministerial knuckles for his selective presentation of data to MPs. Mr Johnson excluded any reference to the fact that in the same period fraud and computer misuse had increased by 47%.
A promiscuous attitude to the truth: Lord Turnbull on Boris Johnson
It’s rare for a former Cabinet Secretary to comment critically on a serving Prime Minister, but Lord Turnbull — Cabinet Secretary to Tony Blair, and Principal Private Secretary to both Margaret Thatcher and John Major — doesn’t mince his words about Boris Johnson. “He’s very unusual,” he told me. “The work ethic of Mrs Thatcher and to some extent John Major has not been followed at all.
