KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Cascades (Yakima Basin) have run out of snow three weeks earlier than normal. The Yakima Basin typically runs out of snow on July 3rd, meaning we’re about to have three weeks less of snowpack melt into our reservoirs than we would typically hope for. As we head into this stretch, reservoir levels in the Yakima Basin are just below average for early June. With the lack of snowmelt, expect reservoir levels to dip below average in the Yakima Basin.
