Abstract Background: University aerobics is widely offered, but evidence comparing its real-world fitness outcomes with standard physical education (PE) using institutional records is limited. We examined whether enrollment in university aerobics was associated with greater 12-week improvement in health-related physical fitness than enrollment in standard PE and whether attendance was associated with fitness change.
Zinc displacement and metabolic interference: cobalt ion-mediated therapy for broad-spectrum CRKP-resistant pneumonia via inhalable microspheres
Abstract Currently, broad-spectrum carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) infectious pneumonia remains clinically difficult to treat. This study develops inhalable microspheres (SCM) loaded with meropenem (MEM), fabricated via microfluidics by cross-linking sodium alginate with Co2+, for synergistic therapy against drug-resistant bacterial pneumonia. The core discovery lies in Co2+’s dual mechanism of action, which addresses both metallo- and serine-mediated carbapenem resistance.

Rational design of a Kappa opioid receptor peptide agonist with attenuated β-arrestin signaling
|
Abstract Difelikefalin is an FDA-approved κ-opioid receptor (KOR) peptide agonist used to treat chronic pruritus. However, as a balanced agonist that activates both G protein and β-arrestin pathways, difelikefalin remains associated with undesirable side effects linked to β-arrestin signaling. Here, we report the cryo-EM structure of the difelikefalin-KOR-Gi complex, identifying Y3207.43 as a key residue that is critical for signaling bias.

Association of Betaine, Choline, and TMAO with Type 2 Diabetes in Rura
Introduction Diabetes is a major chronic disease threatening global health and a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, lower limb amputation and metabolic disorders. In China, 90% of diabetes cases are Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), and over 20% of people with diabetes are aged 60 years or older.1 As the population ages, this proportion will continue to rise. T2DM is characterized by hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and pancreatic β-cell decompensation.
Building sample applications is often promoted as an efficient way to showcase the capabilities of a new API or SDK. However, the reality is quite different. Over the past months, I've spoken with developer advocates from various startups and enterprises, and a common consensus has emerged: sample apps are crucial for encouraging developers to adopt new API/SDK technologies. But there's a significant challenge.
