PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — With summer officially in full swing, Providence has kicked off its “Eat, Play, Learn” initiative, providing families with access to food, recreation and community through the season. Mayor Brett Smiley joined local leaders on Tuesday to announce when service at meal sites will begin and when public pools and water parks will reopen. “Summer in Providence should be a time for kids to stay kids,” Smiley said in a press release.
