What was your first job as a journalist?
When I was 6, I started my own newspaper called The McMullen News. I made two issues, and they sucked. I was 6!
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Does Anne Hathaway's character in The Devil Wears Prada count?
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means being cynical enough to see the problems in our society and optimistic enough to believe you can actually help.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. It's awful.
Why did you become a journalist?
There are myriad reasons, some philosophical, some just plain luck and circumstance. The most important reason? I disdain being lied to.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I and a colleague were the first to report that Baldwin Wallace University would lift its mask mandate, before the school even told students.
What's your favorite drink?
Sugar free red bull. Essential newsroom item for me.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In front of a television, statistically.
