After years of experimenting with different wellness rituals to manage burnout and ADHD, I had come to realise that mindfulness – the act of being present – is often the most powerful yet elusive tool of all. But most days, my mind still felt like it was trying to outrun itself.

Manduka PRO Yoga Mat 6mm Review: Is It Worth the Investment? (2023) — Live Well Basics
Weight: One of the trade-offs for the mat's durability and cushioning is its weight. The Manduka PRO is heavier than many other yoga mats on the market, so it’s definitely not one that you should commit to taking on to go or even moving around. Initial slipperiness: The mat can be quite slippery when you first start using it. Even when I followed its salting procedures to break it in (I personally don’t think it made a difference), I still found myself slipping in down dog sometimes.

Prior to the workshop, I had the opportunity to interview the CFO of one of Canada’s leading clean tech software companies that is focused on the water sector, James Griffiths ofAquatic Informatics. James was able to share with me his thoughts regarding pricing for one the their software brands, WaterTrax.

The yum cha rules you need to know
28 February 2019 Karen ChiangFeatures correspondent Yuen Man Cheung/Alamy It is considered impolite to reach across the table during yum cha (Credit: Yuen Man Cheung/Alamy) From finishing every grain of rice in the bowl to knocking on the table, these etiquettes have been passed down through generations. As a born and bred Hong-Konger, going to yum cha with my family every Sunday is an important tradition that has lasted many generations.
The yum cha rules you need to know
As a born and bred Hong-Konger, going to yum cha with my family every Sunday is an important tradition that has lasted many generations. Here, stories old and new are recounted over a table full of bamboo baskets that hold a variety of dim sum – small bites that encompass everything from delicately translucent prawn dumplings and silky rice rolls to molten lava custard buns and sweet roasted pork buns.

Hong Kong’s hot pot obsession
It was past midnight in a residential area in Cheung Sha Wan, and only Tai Po King Restaurant and a few other local eateries were still open on the quiet street. As I walked inside, loud chatter filled the small but bright dining area, and workers who’d just got off their night shifts were huddled around the tables clinking small glasses of beer and smoking cigarettes. Fresh chilli and spices were being fried in the kitchen, and the fumes started spreading out into the dining area.

These new spa treatments feed the rising consumer appetite for wellness
If you’re lucky, a trip to the spa is a semi-regular occurrence, allowing you to relax and unwind from the hectic swirl of modern day life in a halo of scented candles, soft robes and the touch of an angel who unknots every last, persistent kink with shocking ease. If you’re unlucky, like me (yes, I know, spas should be my second home given my job but alas they are not) then this is a birthday treat. The kind of grand gesture you might be gifted for the joy of another decade milestone met.

Singapore, the city just marked 50 years since it became an independent state, rich in heritage and packed with stories. Design Destination: Hotel Blanco, Formentera
I admire commitment to a theme when it comes to design, and Hotel Blanco – a glossy beacon of design on the hippie-chic island of Formentera – has that in spades. You won’t be surprised to know the theme here is colour (or lack of it): even the cava bottles are white. There are no five-star hotels on Formentera, a quirk of planning controls rather than service levels, and finding any room in peak season can be a struggle.
Design Destination: Les Cinq Djellabas, Marrakech, Morocco
I have a recurring stress nightmare – which is usually a sign I’m run down and need a holiday – whereby it’s the day before my French A-level exam and I haven’t yet started revising. Invariably I wake up moments before the (dream) exam itself is due to start, and the sense of relief that it’s not actually the day I’ll be tested on my command of the French language is almost worth the tossing and turning of the previous six or so hours.

Meet Brian Thoreen - the designer taking luxury furniture back to basics
Here at WGSN, we know that great challenges lead to great designs (the Mini car was designed amid the 1950s fuel crisis; Coca-Cola’s bottle was designed to be instantly recognisable – even in the dark – in a competitive market). Such is the case for Los Angeles-based artist and designer Brian Thoreen, who set himself the challenge of using just three materials (marble, bronze and smoked glass) and no screws or bolts to create his latest collection of furniture and objects, titled Unsettled.
J.W. Anderson's Disobedient Bodies exhibition, where fashion meets art
Form and figure are key at the Hepworth Wakefield, a contemporary art gallery in Yorkshire, England, as they debut a new exhibition this spring curated by British fashion designer and Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson. Titled Disobedient Bodies: J.W. Anderson At The Hepworth Wakefield, the exhibit explores how designers and artists interpret form, gender, and abstraction in relation to the human body. The exhibit showcases artwork coming in a range of mediums.

The theme restaurant is back - with a bang
In recent years, theme restaurants have come to seem a bit naff. With chefs focusing on beautiful plating and seasonal ingredients, and carefully telling the story behind each course, there hasn’t been much appetite for all-singing, all-dancing entertainment dining. But now – the theme restaurant is making a comeback.
