Gators Reach “Flow State;” Post Season’s Highest Score in Win Over LSU Original
In recent years, Florida-LSU has become the definitive can’t-miss matchup of the NCAA season. Hosting the meet this year, Florida certainly understood the significance of the moment; prior to the meet, Florida head coach Jenny Rowland described the effect of two of the nation’s top teams meeting as “iron [sharpening] iron.” Typically a midseason meet, the matchup taking place on senior night in the O’Dome this year felt especially poetic, like an opportunity for something big to happen.
LIVE BLOG: No. 2 LSU at No. 4 Florida
Is it crazy to say this feels like a bigger matchup than LSU at Oklahoma? Maybe it’s because these teams have been SEC rivals for so much longer, and the result seems like a genuine toss-up almost every year. Each team has just one gymnast who has scored a 10.000 this season—LSU’s Kailin Chio, who has racked up several—but it’s Senior Night in Gainesville, so don’t be surprised if that changes at the hands of Selena Harris-Miranda.
LIVE BLOG: No. 8 Arkansas at No. 7 Missouri
Arkansas experienced both extremes last week, counting a fall on bars but also celebrating a historic moment as Morgan Price delivered the program’s first-ever perfect 10.000 with a stuck vault. Consistency on bars and beam has been elusive throughout the season, making refinement on those events especially important with marquee matchups against Oklahoma and LSU looming. Finding stability now could be key to building postseason momentum.
LIVE BLOG: No. 3 Alabama at No. 18 Auburn
It’s the Iron Bowl of Gymnastics at Neville Arena. News of Sophia Bell being on crutches to start Friday’s meet had the ripple effect many expected throughout the weekend, culminating in a season-low 48.750 on floor at the Metroplex Challenge on Sunday. Bell was a key contributor on vault and floor in January, and Auburn will need to identify a reliable replacement quickly to stay competitive on those events.

LIVE BLOG: No. 29 Kentucky at No. 12 Auburn
Kentucky showed encouraging signs of a return to form last weekend, holding its own against Oklahoma, but the Wildcats still have work to do to climb back into familiar ranking territory. Leading the charge has been Delaynee Rodriguez, who quietly sits eighth in the all-around nationally. She claimed the all-around title last weekend against a field loaded with star power, continuing to anchor the lineup in Creslyn Brose’s absence.

LIVE BLOG: No. 6 Arkansas at No. T3 Florida
Florida’s lineups will look different from the outset tonight after sophomore Ly Bui was lost to injury at Auburn last week. While the meet ultimately produced a season-high score for the Gators, it also included a counted fall—something Florida will be eager to avoid as it looks to establish momentum early despite the setback. It will be worth watching whether other lineups are adjusted as well, including the possibility of Selena Harris-Miranda breaking into the floor rotation.

No. 5 UCLA at No. 21 Michigan State
It’s hard to think of a program that has climbed from both literal and figurative rock bottom to national relevance as decisively as Michigan State has in recent years. That rise has been so pronounced that any hint of vulnerability now feels out of character—and yet, the Spartans’ first two meets of the season have featured uncharacteristic mistakes and form issues that we’re simply not used to seeing from this team.

In the Heat of the Moment, Gators Stay "Calm and Confident" to Win SEC Opener Original
A top-five matchup came right down to the wire in Gainesville last night, with Florida pulling out the home win against surging Alabama by just a tenth and a half, 197.425-197.275. Head coach Jenny Rowland summed it up best at the start of the post-meet media availability: “Welcome to the SEC.” The conference foes’ performances mirrored one another in several ways. Both had excellent bars rotations with multiple sticks, coupled with vault rotations that saw far more bouncy landings than drills.
LIVE BLOG: No. 4 Alabama at No. 1 Florida
Yep, that’s a “1” in front of Florida. The Gators took full advantage of competing at home during a strange Sprouts Quad weekend to post the nation’s top score to date, and they’ll look to hold onto that ranking with a second straight home meet. In classic Florida fashion, the lineups came with a few surprises: Selena Harris-Miranda did not compete on floor while Skye Blakely anchored the event just a year and a half after tearing her Achilles at the Olympic Trials.
