A male diver has died after being bitten by a suspected 4.5m (14.8ft) shark in Western Australia, according to local authorities. The 35-year-old, who has not been named, was spearfishing with family off Michaelmas Island, south-east of Perth, when he was attacked at 11:25 local time (03:25 GMT) on Saturday, police said. He was taken by boat to shore where he was met by paramedics, who were unable to revive him.
