A novel class of single-parameter filled functions for nonsmooth global optimization
Constructing well-behaved filled functions is crucial for the success of filled function algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new class of filled functions specifically designed for nonsmooth optimization problems. The new functions contain only one easy-to-adjust parameter and avoid logarithmic or exponential terms. This design effectively overcomes the issues of parameter sensitivity and computational inefficiency in traditional filled function methods.
TINA: a geometry-aware post-hoc scoring framework for protein-protein interaction
Abstract Accurate identification of the most native-like conformation remains a critical bottleneck in protein complex structure prediction, particularly when multiple globally plausible candidate models are generated by deep learning methods such as AlphaFold3 (AF3). While AF3 provides internal confidence metrics such as ipTM and pLDDT, these signals often lack sufficient sensitivity to distinguish subtle but structurally meaningful differences in local interface geometry.

Central adiposity is associated with incident infective endocarditis
Abstract Central adiposity and metabolic dysfunction are associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes, but their associations with incident infective endocarditis (IE) remain unclear. We compared conventional anthropometric and TyG-based indices in relation to incident IE in UK Biobank participants. We analysed 386,859 participants recruited between 2006 and 2010. A 2-year landmark design was applied.
Robust subgroup analysis under rank regression
Identifying subgroup structure with varying parameters in the model is of great importance in practical applications, such as making treatment decisions, personalizing educational programs. To address this issue, we develop an approach based on concave fusion penalties to identify the group structure and estimate the parameters using rank regression, which can achieve robustness for heavy-tailed random errors while maintaining high efficiency under normal errors.
A ship autonomous navigation decision-making method based on the OODA loop theory
Abstract Ship autonomous navigation plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime transportation. However, existing methods are limited in handling complex ship encounter scenarios, and their output collision avoidance decisions suffer from insufficient rationality and practical applicability. To address these challenges, this study proposes a ship autonomous navigation decision-making method based on the Observe–Orient–Decide–Act (OODA) loop theory.

ACSL5 suppresses pancreatic cancer progression and gemcitabine resistance by regulating n-6 docosapentaenoic acid metabolism
Abstract Gemcitabine (GEM) resistance remains a major challenge in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) treatment. Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of tumors, and imbalance in lipid metabolism promotes tumor progression and drug resistance. This study aims to elucidate the mechanism of Acyl-CoA Synthetase Long Chain Family Member 5 (ACSL5) in PDAC, its impact on fatty acid metabolism, and its clinical relevance.
A path fitting accuracy improvement and evaluation method based on minimum toll and multi-dimensional anomaly detection engine
Abstract Missing or abnormal gantry data in expressway network tolling leads to inaccurate path fitting and to the “same road, different tolls” phenomenon. Motivated by this limitation, this paper introduces a two-stage path fitting framework.
DoGL3 Functions Independently of the MBW Complex to Drive Anthocyanin Accumulation in Dendrobium officinale Under Simulated Wild Conditions
Environmental stresses commonly induce the accumulation of anthocyanins, which are key bioactive secondary metabolites in medicinal plants (Xu et al. 2025). The stress-triggered reactive oxygen species (ROS) bursts damage mitochondria and exacerbate oxidative stress, which anthocyanins counteract via ROS scavenging to alleviate oxidative damage and protect mitochondrial integrity.

Adaptive collision-avoidance timing recognition for autonomous ship encounters using multi-evidence Bayesian backward evidence detection
Abstract Avoidance timing is a critical interface between collision-risk assessment and collision-avoidance planning for maritime autonomous surface ships (MASSs). Existing approaches usually trigger avoidance using fixed collision-risk thresholds, closest point of approach (CPA) criteria, ship-domain boundaries, or single maneuvering indicators, which cannot fully capture the combined effects of maneuvering behavior, relative-motion evolution, and encounter-type-dependent risk evolution.

A novel interval prediction method with adaptive calibration for ship energy consumption prediction
Abstract Reliable Uncertainty Quantification for Ship Energy Consumption (SEC) is important for abnormality detection and energy efficiency management under complex operating conditions. Existing studies mainly estimate SEC as single deterministic values under different operating conditions, which cannot characterize uncertainty in complex maritime environments.
Protection and deprotection of the Rec8 cohesin complex during meiosis
Our previous study indicated that Plo1 bound to Moa1 phosphorylates Rec8 at S450 and thereby contributes to Rec8 protection during meiosis I.20 Therefore, we investigated whether Moa1 also contributes to the protection of Rec8 during meiosis II. Notably, like Sgo1, Moa1 also carries a D-box sequence RPALQDKTN (residues 32–40)31 (Figure 4A). We introduced the D-box mutation L35A into endogenous Moa1 (Moa1-DB) and examined its protein expression and localization during meiosis.
