(WTVF) — Neighbors in East Nashville are working to transform a symbol of hate into a community mural after graffiti tied to the white nationalist group Patriot Front appeared on a historic silo about a month ago. The silo, located on Crutcher Street at a local mulch company, was vandalized with the words "Patriot Front" painted on its side. The property owner, who asked not to be named, says the city has not offered assistance in removing the graffiti.

(WTVF) — A Nashville grandfather is demanding answers after his 20-year-old grandson was shot and killed by Tennessee National Guard soldiers during a crime-fighting patrol in Memphis. Tyrin Johnson was killed early Sunday morning during an encounter involving the Memphis Safe Task Force, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. His grandfather, Evaniel Johnson, says the family wants investigators to release video evidence before people rush to judgment.

Three stages across downtown kept the music going as the countdown to America's 250th birthday got underway a day early.
