If you live in Rochester, chances are you’re used to the cooler temperatures and heavy snowfall. But one thing no one can really get used to is ice. That’s why a lot of people were out on Wednesday buying rock salt. Rochester resident Tim Doherty said he buys rock salt every year, not for his own safety, but for the safety of others.

(WROC) — Here in Rochester, temperatures are dropping, and harsher weather seems to be here to stay, which is why one local family organized their second annual coat drive to help those less fortunate. It started last year when Bruce Blue, his sister Ashley, and his wife Nichole decided to hold a coat drive. After just two years, they’ve received and donated approximately 600 coats to people of all ages.
