The mother and daughter of an Odessa man who died in the Ector County jail in July 2024 have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Ector County and Sheriff Mike Griffis. According to the lawsuit, Joe Daniel Miranda, 50, died of acute methamphetamine intoxication one day after being arrested and booked into the Ector County jail.
