The Washoe Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday voted 3-1 to place an advisory question on the November ballot asking voters whether electric and hybrid vehicle owners should pay additional fees to help fund road construction and maintenance. Multiple This Is Reno reporters and photographers covered a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Reno that segued into a destructive demonstration at Reno Police Department headquarters and on to a violent riot at City Hall, where one of our reporters was assaulted by demonstrators. My role was to sift through and select images from hundreds provided that would tell the story visually. I worked with numerous writers to help coalesce their submissions into one breaking news story.
