Association and attributable hospital costs of chronic pain with relevant geriatric sensitive diseases among the older adults
Abstract Background: The adverse impacts of chronic pain extend far beyond the physical sensation itself. Chronic pain, an age-related condition, exacerbates geriatric disease burden and drives a central sensitivity-neuropsychiatric complex, necessitating urgent preventive care.

Founders Can Increase Determinism of Community Assembly
1 Introduction The effect of founders refers to the potential influence of initially colonizing species on the composition, functionality, and stability of communities (Grime 1998). Notably, this concept differs from the founder effect in population genetics, which refers to the reduction in genetic variation that occurs when a new population is established by a small number of individuals from a larger population (Barton and Charlesworth 1984; Grant 2002).
Evaluation of cross-neutralizing antibodies in children infected with omicron sub-variants

Mapping Coastal Wetlands and Their Dynamics in the Yellow River Delta over Last Three Decades: Based on a Spectral Endmember Space
5. Discussion 5.1. Comparison with Other Coastal Wetland Results in the YRD We conducted a comparative analysis with several global and regional datasets to validate the accuracy and consistency of our coastal wetland mapping in the Yellow River Delta (YRD) with the global intertidal change dataset (GIT dataset), the typical salt-marsh vegetation dataset (MTS dataset), and the GlobeLand30.

A Small Object Detection Network Based on Multiple Feature Enhancement and Feature Fusion
Due to the small size, high resolution, and complex background, small object detection has become a difficult point in computer vision. Making full use of high-resolution features and reducing information loss in the process of information propagation is of great significance to improve small object detection. In this article, to achieve the above two points, this work proposes a small object detection network based on multiple feature enhancement and feature fusion based on RetinaNet (MFEFNet).
Carriers of Healing Agents in Biological Self-Healing Concrete
Concrete is the most widely used material in civil engineering, but due to its inherent brittleness, the generation of cracks easily occurs. Crack healing is an effective method for restoring the mechanical properties of concrete and improving its durability.
Hyperspectral remote sensing technology for water quality monitoring: knowledge graph analysis and Frontier trend
1 Introduction Water is called the source of life, which makes protecting water resources, preventing water pollution and rational using water resources hot issues of concern to all mankind (Hou et al., 2022). In the summer of 2022, the water level of rivers dropped sharply, and the residents had difficulty drinking water in many countries both in Europe and Asia, making the public pay more attention to water resources (Zhang et al., 2022).

Nonsense-mediated RNA decay: an emerging modulator of malignancy - Nature Reviews Cancer
Abstract Nonsense-mediated RNA decay (NMD) is a highly conserved RNA turnover pathway that selectively degrades RNAs harbouring truncating mutations that prematurely terminate translation, including nonsense, frameshift and some splice-site mutations. Recent studies show that NMD shapes the mutational landscape of tumours by selecting for mutations that tend to downregulate the expression of tumour suppressor genes but not oncogenes.

Transcriptome profiling reveals signaling conditions dictating human spermatogonia fate in vitro
We need more data on the risks mining poses to ocean life and ecosystems.
The Neonatal and Adult Human Testis Defined at the Single-Cell Level
Highlights • Neonatal and adult human testicular cell subsets are defined by scRNA-seq analysis • The neonate contains both primordial germ cell- and SSC-like cells • Numerous adult spermatogonial states with distinct markers are defined • Neonatal and adult testicular “niche” cells and factors are defined Summary Spermatogenesis has been intensely studied in rodents but remains poorly understood in humans. Here, we used single-cell RNA sequencing to analyze human testes.
