PHILADELPHIA -- If Zack Wheeler’s performance yesterday was vintage, Aaron Nola's outing today was a signature performance. The right-hander turned back the clock Sunday afternoon. He looked like the man who received Cy Young Award votes in four different seasons, as opposed to the man who held an ERA over 6.00 halfway into this season on the heels of a career-worst year in 2025. Nola did more than enough to win the game. His offense gave him late insurance. It somehow was not enough.

PHILADELPHIA – Zack Wheeler delivered a vintage performance Saturday night, right when the Phillies needed it. Interim manager Don Mattingly has downplayed this series as being more important than any other this season. But when you are in the midst of a four-game series in your home ballpark, down four in the divisional race, against the team in front of you, in September, it is hard not to feel every pressure-packed moment a little more than usual.
