Transition Radiation Field Enhanced Laser Proton Acceleration Employing Near-Critical-Density Foam
Abstract Laser-driven protons with ultrafast temporal properties attract great interest in fields ranging from flash radiation oncology to compact accelerators. High-efficiency energy coupling of protons from laser-induced accelerating fields is complex, hybrid acceleration mechanisms that combine multiple field contributions prove critical for optimizing proton energy.
IR Spectroscopic Study of the Formation Mechanism of Photoaccumulating Titania-Based Heterooxide Composites - Journal of Applied Spectroscopy
IR spectroscopic and photocatalytic studies of thin-film TiO2–V2O5 heterooxide composites obtained by codeposition of TiO2 and V2O5 colloids, chemical deposition of a V2O5 shell over TiO2 particles, and thermal decomposition of ammonium vanadate in the presence of TiO2 particles have shown that the disordered V2O5 phase produced via a pyrolytic synthetic route formed close heterocontacts with titania particles that facilitated charge separation and simultaneously ensured effective...
Effect of zero-time exercise on physically inactive adults with insomnia disorder: A randomized controlled trial
Section snippets What is already known • Insomnia is a prevalent problem, leading to many negative health consequences. • Exercise has been proposed as an alternative treatment for insomnia; however, people find it difficult to start and maintain an exercise routine because of lack of time. What this paper adds • The zero-time exercise training program was superior to sleep hygiene education in reducing the Insomnia Severity Index scores and enhancing physical activity.

An efficient route for synthesis of spirocyclic cyclopentapyridines
Spirocyclic compounds, characterized by the presence of a single common atom (known as the spiroatom) shared by at least two molecular rings, have recently demonstrated significant pharmaceutical potentials in drug design and development [1].
Non-destructive chemical prelithiation of VO2(B) anodes constructing a multifunctional interphase layer for advanced Li-Ion batteries
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) represent the most successful model among various types of chemical batteries, owning to their high energy density, portability, and extended lifespan [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. Despite decades of development, the choice of anode materials continues to exert a profound impact on the progress and utilization of LIBs in applictaion such as electric vehicles and beyond.
Synthesis of 5,5′-(Disulfanediyl)bis[3-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione] and Study of Its Anti-Inflammatory Activity - Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal
5,5′-(Disulfanediyl)bis[3-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione] was synthesized by oxidative condensation in the presence of chloride ions. The structure of the resulting compound was identified by an x-ray crystal structure analysis, for which the crystallographic data were obtained. The anti-inflammatory activity of the synthesized disulfide was studied for the first time in a carrageenan edema model.
Genetic determinants of micronucleus formation in vivo - Nature
Abstract Genomic instability arising from defective responses to DNA damage1 or mitotic chromosomal imbalances2 can lead to the sequestration of DNA in aberrant extranuclear structures called micronuclei (MN). Although MN are a hallmark of ageing and diseases associated with genomic instability, the catalogue of genetic players that regulate the generation of MN remains to be determined.

The inherent AIE feature revealed the drug molecular state in cyclodextrin metal-organic framework for enhanced stability and absorption
For oral drug delivery, there are an increasing number of drug candidates facing problems of poor solubility and bioavailability, which brings great challenges to drug development [1]. Amorphous solids have been widely used for improving the dissolution and oral absorption of poorly soluble drugs [2], [3]. However, amorphous drugs are usually unstable and tend to revert back to more stable and less soluble crystalline forms thus negating their advantages [4], [5].

Warming and redistribution of nitrogen inputs drive an increase in terrestrial nitrous oxide emission factor - Nature Communications
Abstract Anthropogenic nitrogen inputs cause major negative environmental impacts, including emissions of the important greenhouse gas N2O. Despite their importance, shifts in terrestrial N loss pathways driven by global change are highly uncertain. Here we present a coupled soil-atmosphere isotope model (IsoTONE) to quantify terrestrial N losses and N2O emission factors from 1850-2020. We find that N inputs from atmospheric deposition caused 51% of anthropogenic N2O emissions from soils in 2020.

Lichenoid keratosis is frequently misdiagnosed as basal cell carcinoma
Lichenoid keratosis (LK), also known as benign lichenoid keratosis or lichen planus-like keratosis, is a solitary, pink to red-brown scaly plaque representing a host immunological response to a variety of precursor lesions. LK is often misdiagnosed as a dermatological malignancy owing to its clinical resemblance to basal cell carcinoma (BCC) or Bowen disease.
Modifying photocatalysts for solar hydrogen evolution based on the electron behavior
Converting abundant solar energy into precious and clean hydrogen energy through photocatalytic water splitting is highly promising to address energy shortage. Solar H2 evolution is a practical technology in the areas of environment and energy. Electron is the protagonist in solar H2 evolution and electron behaviors determine the performance. Three pivotal steps of electron generation, electron survival and electron utilization are involved in this photocatalytic process.
Culture substrates made of elastomeric micro-tripod arrays for long-term expansion of human pluripotent stem cells
Culturing and expansion of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) depend on the chemical and physical properties of the substrates. Gel-coated substrates providing low stiffness are commonly used for long-term pluripotency maintenance of hPSCs. We previously reported that gelatin nanofibrous substrates also allow long-term culturing of hPSCs, suggesting the importance of three-dimensional (3D) organization of extracellular matrix proteins.

THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK CONSTRUCTION OF A PATIENT-REPORTED SYNDROME SCALE: PHLEGM SYNDROME (PRS-PS)
Phlegm syndrome is frequent in TCM clinical trials. Although the diagnosis of phlegm syndrome has been clear, it is difficult to evaluate the clinical efficacy of TCM on it properly. Therefore, a patients reported scale is needed. This study aims to establish the theoretical framework for A Patient Reported Syndrome Scale: Phlegm Syndrome (PRS-PS).
THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK CONSTRUCTION OF A PATIENT-REPORTED SYNDROME SCALE: QI-DEFICIENCY SYNDROME (PRS-QDS)
Syndrome is charaterized in Chinese Medicine, which can reflect disease progession as well as health status. Thus, it was greatly aprreciated by Chinese practitioners. Nowadays, syndrome diagnostic scales had already been developed, which are only for clinicians. Since syndromes will be full of variety with the disease progession. Therefore, how to assess the variation comes vitally important for patients themselves.
