Stage Review: ‘Sex With Strangers’ in San Jose leaves you less than satisfied Original
The moment that author “Ethan Strange” rolls up to a bed and breakfast and meets fellow writer Olivia, something feels off. The age gap is the most obvious dynamic that doesn’t jibe, but it’s mostly the generational fissures that escalate every tension between the two writers. Despite the cracks that are immediate, the pleasures of the flesh are too much to overcome for these two.

Lessons Learned About COVID-19 in First 3 Weeks
Christopher R. Hope, M.D. What it means for Holy Week Let’s look at three facts as it relates to COVID-19 in the east Alabama region: 1. Test kits for the COVID-19 coronavirus continue to be limited. 2. COVID-19 testing must be prioritized for those most at risk for serious illness and to maintain a healthy crisis workforce. 3. Unfortunately, not everyone with COVID-19 has symptoms. On a normal day, Dr. Christopher Hope is a sleep medicine specialist at East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC).

I’ll Always Love The Small Things The Most
I’ll always love the small things the most. The way my body feels when I wake up hours before my alarm, warm and tangled in sheets; a sip of icy water on a hot summer day; the feel of crisp pages between fingers; my dog’s legs pushing into me as he dreams. I love the way the earth feels in the morning, cool and untouched. I love the softness of a pillow when you’re so tired you can hardly open your eyes.
Sometimes I Wonder How You’re Doing In Heaven
When I close my eyes, I can picture you. The softness of your skin, the part of your hair, the way your eyelashes always curled so effortlessly, in a way I always admired. I can see the wrinkles on your hands, hear the tenderness of your voice. I can almost feel your fine hair between my fingertips, and your tired eyes looking up at me, telling me you love the way it feels to be touched with such love.
New Year's Eve celebrations brought back some of my fave memories | QC After Dark
The year 2017 is finally upon us, Queen City. Is it just me or did 2016 fly by? Then again, I guess it feels like that every year. And just like every other year, preparing for New Year's Eve celebrations brought back some of my most hilarious memories made in the city. The first being a threesome. Oh come on, get your mind out of the gutter. I'm not talking about a literal threesome, but a non-traditional date with my current boy toy.

Three questions for Patrick McManaman of Famous Toastery
Brunch is popular here in the South. So it should come as not surprise that an eatery like Famous Toastery would become a hot spot. The franchise opened its first location — a small house-turned-restaurant in Huntersville — in 2005, sporting a menu consisting of items like stuffed French toast with strawberry cream cheese, omelets, and burgers and wraps for the lunch crowd. The décor is up to owners at each location, but flying pigs and roosters are a common theme.
Cherry Pie art show offers a slice of feminism
In a promo video and photo shoot for Cherry Pie — a feminist art show that's going down at Union Shop Studio April 22-May 1 — a woman bows her head solemnly and stands stiff, as someone pours a pitcher of what looks like blood but is actually cherry juice over her head. The liquid drips down, staining her white clothing as she stands motionless with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. Anything that's dubbed as "feminist art" is filled with all kinds of interpretations and, oftentimes, controversy.
Beer Guide 2016
Is Charlotte becoming a craft beer hub? That's a question to ponder as new breweries spread at rampant speed across the Q.C. They cluster in spots like NoDa and South End, where going on a bar hop sounds more dangerous than fun (don't even try to hit up all of them for a drink on the same night or you'll end up with a hangover). But neighboring 'hoods and cities are getting a taste of the growing industry, too.
Sam Hinkie Leaves the Philadelphia Sixers
Fans of sensible front-office behavior have been given a pair of big gifts over the past six months, in the form of the departures of Chip Kelly and Sam Hinkie. Last December’s removal of Kelly was a chance for the Eagles to step away from his “revolutionary” and ultimately unsuccessful coaching ways and begin the business of becoming a real NFL franchise again—though there’s no guarantee the Jeffrey Lurie/Howie Roseman axis will deliver anything other than more heartache.
Three questions for Lucia Zapata-Griffith, owner of Poplar Street Cafe & Wine Bar
When shopping for a home, feeling a connection to the property is important. That was the case for Lucia Zapata-Griffith, a resident of Charlotte for more than 30 years, who purchased a 130-year-old house in Fourth Ward. The home, much of which has been preserved and renovated as a cafe and wine bar, is slated to open on March 7. She was inspired by the home's rich historical roots. It was built in 1885 and named a historical landmark of Charlotte in 1977.

Three questions for Kaitlyn Carfagno, owner of SAS Cupcakes
SAS Cupcakes began with a vision created by the original owners who resided in Newark, Delaware. They were not bakers themselves, but wanted to start something fun in the area. That vision blossomed when they moved to the Charlotte area, where they opened two locations — in Blakeney and RiverGate. By this point, SAS had already become an in-demand cupcake shipping company. There's even the option for guaranteed delivery within two days without a sprinkle out of place.
