Julianne Moore presided over this year's jury which included Mariano Cohn, Leonardo Di Costanzo, Audrey Diwan (the Golden Lion winner last year -- our interview!), Leila Hatami, Kazuo Ishiguro and Rodrigo Sorogoyen. They gave the top prize to a buzzy documentary about Nan Goldin, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed.

Official Awards of the 79th Venice Film Festival (contents below…) What do the winners of this year’s 79th Biennale jury (chaired by Julianne Moore and comprised of Mariano Cohn, Leonardo Di Costanzo, Audrey Diwan, Leila Hatami, Kazuo Ishiguro and Rodrigo Sorogoyen) mean here in the United States of Oscar? NSA spied against UN climate negotiations
The US National Security Agency (NSA) spied on other countries’ preparations for the December 2009 Copenhagen Climate Summit, according to an NSA document obtained by the Danish daily Information via whistleblower Edward Snowden. The document shows that the NSA planned to continue its espionage during the negotiations in Copenhagen’s Bella Center. One of the NSA's targets was the host country, Denmark.

First Look Media is a multi-platform media company which was first launched in 2013. Amongst the company’s distributed content is Field of Vision, a documentary unit that creates a variety of short documentaries that cover a variety of contemporary events around the globe. All of this work is distributed in a variety of forms with the intention of sharing these stories with a large worldwide audience. A handful of selections were shown right at SPACE Gallery in Portland at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

Narrated by Rami Malek and Michelle Williams, and based on classified NSA documents, Project X reveals the inner workings of a windowless skyscraper in downtown Manhattan.This film is the product of a joint reporting project between Field of Vision and The Intercept.
