Most of the people of the Sunshine Hills neighborhood of London, KY had never seen a tornado. Kentucky isn’t historically part of Tornado Alley, but lately, they’ve been creeping south, just another confusing turn of the climate change screw that’s leaving no one untouched. I’ve never seen a tornado, either, nor had I laid eyes on their destructive aftermath until a couple weeks ago, when I deployed with a humanitarian organization as part of its Disaster Assistance Response Team.
