MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — More than a thousand men who fought in the Revolutionary War 250 years ago lived out the rest of their lives on the land that would one day become Alabama. Many of their deaths were documented, and their graves have been preserved. Others were lost to time. A group from the Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution are hard at work trying to find the remainder of lost Patriots before the end of this year.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – This week marks one year since the Huntsville Food and Farm Hub made its debut. Since then, hundreds of items have been packed into dozens of bags every Tuesday, to be picked up or delivered to customers. “We’re an online marketplace of 30-plus local farms and producers. A food hub differentiates itself from a farmer’s market in that we aggregate producers onto an online store,” co-owner Callie Enea said. Callie and her husband Chris have always loved farmers’ markets.

Lifelong sewer turns hobby into business helping people remember milestone moments, facing loss

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Aubree Watkins has been a sewer since she was just nine years old. Her mom taught her how to make quilts, pillows and more. Now, Watkins is crafting a signature piece for her mother, called a Memory Animal. It’s one of more than 100 she’s made since launching her business, Aubree’s Crafty Corner. Watkins said she started with memory quilts, taking clothes from someone’s favorite college, maybe a jersey or two, and other items to tell a story of memories.
