1. Introduction Doxorubicin is an anti-cancer drug with high efficacy against various adult and paediatric cancers. The therapeutic utility of doxorubicin is significantly limited by the development of dose-dependent cardiac toxicity. In the 1970s, 4–36% of patients who received a doxorubicin dose of 500–600 mg/m2 progressed to heart failure [1], though this incidence has reduced with lower modern dosing regimes [2].

Abstract Anthracyclines are associated with risk of significant dose-dependent cardiotoxicity. Conventional heart failure therapies have neither ameliorated declining cardiac function nor addressed the underlying cause. Gene therapy may confer long-term cardioprotection by rendering the heart resistant to anthracyclines after 1 treatment, although the optimal therapeutic target remains to be elucidated.

European Union, Ireland, United Kingdom February 15 2021 As a result of the EU/UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, much of the access that UK suppliers previously enjoyed to the EU’s procurement markets, and vice versa, has been preserved. The EU and the UK successfully concluded a free trade deal, the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) on 24 December 2020. The agreement was ratified by the UK Parliament on 30 December 2020.
