Synthetic lethal screens reveal p300/CBP as a vulnerability for GNAQ -driven uveal melanomas
Abstract Uveal melanoma is the most common intraocular cancer in adults, driven by activating mutations in GNAQ or GNA11, which encode the G proteins Gαq and Gα11. Currently, therapeutic options for uveal melanoma, particularly metastatic uveal melanoma, remain limited. Through an isogenic CRISPR screening approach, we identify EP300, which encodes the protein lysine acetyltransferase p300, as a top synthetic lethal vulnerability in the context of GNAQ mutation.
An investigation into the efficacy of treatments for atopic eruption of pregnancy
Abstract Atopic eruption of pregnancy (AEP) is a prevalent inflammatory disease in pregnant women and is frequently associated with considerable pruritus and impaired quality of life. There remains an unmet need for reliable tools to predict treatment effectiveness in order to inform and optimize clinical management. In this retrospective cohort study, clinical data from 653 patients diagnosed with AEP at Anhui Maternal and Child Health Hospital between 2009 and 2024 were analyzed.
Thermally reconfigurable ferroelectric nematics for spatially indexed random bit generation
Spatial optical TRNGs require entropy media with random texture generation, passive room-temperature readout, and global refreshability. Here, we demonstrate a spatially indexed TRNG based on thermally reconfigurable ferroelectric-nematic textures. Thermal reconfiguration creates random POM-readable textures that are experimentally verified to exhibit short-term temporal stability at room temperature and can be repeatedly read from predefined coordinates.

Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Potassium (K) metal anodes suffer from uncontrolled solid electrolyte interphase evolution and isolated K accumulation, greatly hindering the construction of practical anode-free batteries.
Tea saponin–soybean oil submicron emulsion promotes durable protective immunity against Pasteurella multocida
Abstract Background: Inactivated Pasteurella multocida (Pm) vaccines are safe and practical for veterinary use, but their protection is often limited by weak cellular immune activation and insufficient durability of antibody responses. This study investigated whether a tea saponin–soybean oil submicron emulsion could improve the durability, breadth and protective efficacy of immune responses induced by an inactivated P. multocida vaccine. Methods: Inactivated P.
The effect of physical exercise on social appearance anxiety among college students: the serial mediating role of social media addiction and self-objectification
Abstract Background: Social appearance anxiety (SAA) has become a prominent mental health issue among Chinese college students, and it is particularly exacerbated in the mobile Internet era, marked by the pervasive use of social media. As an active health-promoting behavior, physical exercise is widely recognized as being able to effectively alleviate individuals’ mental health problems, yet its underlying psychological mechanisms remain inadequately explored.

Work–Residence Mismatch Drives Air Pollution Disparities Across Urban–Rural China
1 Introduction China's role as a major economy positions it to critically influence global environmental trajectories (Bawa et al., 2010). Although the country has prioritized integrated urban–rural development and environmental governance (C. Zhang et al., 2024; J. Zhao et al., 2025), air pollution remains a persistent public health threat (Camilleri et al., 2023; Q. Zhang et al., 2017). As a result, it continues to be a central focus in both scientific research and public policy.
Copper ion concentration sensing using a CS/PAA-coated SNMNMS fiber interferometer: analysis via adsorption kinetics
A copper ion concentration sensor based on a chitosan/polyacrylic acid (CS/PAA)-functionalized single-mode fiber (SMF)-no-core fiber (NCF)-multimode fiber (MMF)-NCF-MMF-SMF (SNMNMS) interferometer was fabricated and demonstrated. The wavelength shift of the interference dip was used as an optical indicator of copper ion adsorption in the CS/PAA functional coating.

De Novo Design of Specific Heterotrimeric Collagen‐Like Peptides via Genetic Algorithm
1 Introduction Collagen, known for its distinct polyproline type II (PPII) triple helical structure, is the most abundant protein by mass in mammals.[1] Being the major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM), collagens provide structural support and influence cell activity via cell adhesion.[2-4]More than fifty different types of collagen and proteins with collagen-like domains have been identified in humans, many of which are involved in either fatal diseases such as Ehlers-Danlos...
Mapping urban slums and their inequality in sub-Saharan Africa - Nature Cities
Abstract Slums house nearly one-quarter of the global urban population, yet their spatial and socioeconomic dynamics remain poorly understood, hindering progress toward the United Nations’ commitment to ‘leave no one behind’. Here, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa, we integrate geospatial data with household surveys to map slum prevalence and asset-based wealth inequalities across 32 countries.
Mitochondrial inflexibility ignites tumor immunogenicity in postoperative glioblastoma - Nature Communications
Abstract Cellular and molecular heterogeneity contributes to the insufficient immunogenicity of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a lethal malignancy characterized by post-resection relapse, ultimately leading to limited immune cell infiltration. Here, we report a strategy to boost tumor immunity by activating the endogenous cGAS-STING signaling pathway through in-situ manipulation of the mitochondrial electron transport chain (ETC), thereby augmenting the immune responsiveness of GBM.
Newly established forests dominated global carbon sequestration change induced by land cover conversions - Nature Communications
Abstract Land cover conversions (LCC) have substantially reshaped terrestrial carbon dynamics, yet their net impact on carbon sequestration remains uncertain. Here, we use the remote sensing-driven BEPS model and high-resolution HILDA+ data to quantify LCC-induced changes in net ecosystem productivity (NEP) from 1981 to 2019. Despite global forest loss and cropland/urban expansion, LCC led to a net carbon gain of 229 Tg C.

Abstract Mapping spatiotemporal dynamics of crop-specific areas is of great significance in addressing challenges faced by agricultural systems. But comparable multi-phase crop maps in year series have not yet been developed in most regions of the global. In this study, we developed a framework for updating annual crop-specific area maps at 10 km resolution based on crop statistics disaggregating, multi-source data integrating and machine learning.

Delayed leaf green-up is associated with fine particulate air pollution in China - Nature Communications
Abstract Climate warming has led to earlier leaf green-up dates (GUD) with a greening trend of land surfaces in spring, yet the influence of multi-source particle pollution is not well understood. Using ground records and satellite observations of green-up date and fine particulate matter below 2.5 μm (PM2.5) over the last two decades in China, here we show that PM2.5 pollution is associated with reduced plant carbon uptake and delayed green-up dates.

Exploration of the hierarchical assembly space of collagen-like peptides beyond the triple helix - Nature Communications
Abstract The de novo design of self-assembling peptides has garnered significant attention in scientific research. While alpha-helical assemblies have been extensively studied, exploration of polyproline type II helices, such as those found in collagen, remains relatively limited. In this study, we focus on understanding the sequence-structure relationship in hierarchical assemblies of collagen-like peptides, using defense collagen Surfactant Protein A as a model.

A Collagen Triple Helix without the Super Helical Twist
Abstract Collagens are ubiquitous in biology functioning as the backbone of the extracellular matrix, forming the primary structural components of key immune system complexes, and fulfilling numerous other structural roles in a variety of systems. Despite this, there is limited understanding of how triple helices, the basic collagen structural units, pack into collagenous assemblies. Here we use a peptide self-assembly system to design collagenous assemblies based on the C1q collagen-like region.
