HONOLULU (Island News) – Mayor Derek Kawakami’s watch party is underway in Downtown Honolulu as Hawaii voters await the first ballot printout of the night. “It’s been five months of work from Hilo to Hanalei, as we like to say, but nobody’s worked harder than our mayor. He’s out there six to seven days a week from one end of the state to the other,” shared Dan Giovanni, campaign manager for Mayor Derek Kawakami.
