Brian Jungen’s ‘Bush Capsules’ Brings Giant Public Art to Vancouver’s Oakridge Park

Oakridge Park announced the completion of one of four new public art pieces on Sunday, with a celebratory lighting of its first public art commission titled Bush Capsules, crafted by contemporary artist Brian Jungen. The large-scale installation is located on the development’s rooftop park (very close to the new Time Out Market) and includes five spherical shapes attached to long poles, reminiscent of a cluster of mushrooms. The integrated lighting illuminates the structures at night.

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival (VFMF) took place from July 17-19 at Jericho Beach Park. Thousands of people gathered to listen to their favourite artists as well as discover new ones.

(Sheila Say / VFMF) As the FIFA World Cup comes to an end in Vancouver, the city will still have something to buzz about. From July 17 to 19, thousands of fans will come together for the 49th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival. The VFMF will take place at Jericho Beach Park, the place it has called home since 1979.
