Mizzou football's five most valuable players through an up-and-down season
No. 22 Mizzou football has experienced a roller coaster of a season, and it’s only Week 8. In Week 5, the Tigers earned a huge ranked win over Florida before easily handling Texas A&M. The back-to-back victories put Missouri in a promising position. Unfortunately for Mizzou, the metaphorical train reached the top of the metaphorical roller coaster track, and the only way to go was down. That’s exactly what happened when the Tigers suffered an embarrassing 31-3 loss to Ole Miss.
Mizzou’s defense falls apart against Ole Miss on the road
In football, the transitive property doesn’t exist. At least, it didn’t for No. 13 Mizzou when the Tigers took on No. 9 Ole Miss on Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi. In Week 4, the Tigers handled a dynamic Florida offense, limiting stud running back Jadan Baugh to just 13 yards on 12 carries while holding the entire team to 42 rushing yards. Florida had faced Ole Miss earlier, defeating the Rebels 52-28.
Know Thy Enemy: Sam Hutchens of the Clarion Ledger previews Mizzou’s upcoming game against Ole Miss
Mizzou football is set to take on Ole Miss in a crucial matchup. The Tigers are ranked No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 while the Rebels are No. 9. Both teams have one loss and both have emotional ties to the other. Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons, wide receiver Cayden Lee and cornerback Chris Graves Jr. are Ole Miss transfers. Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy spent his freshman season at Mizzou in 2024.
Mizzou football RB Roberts receives recognition following back-to-back 200 yard performances
Mizzou football’s Jamal Roberts put together quite the performance against Texas A&M in Week 6, and it didn’t go unnoticed. The running back was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week and the Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Roberts recorded 222 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries.
Mizzou football continues to trend in the right direction with second Southeastern Conference win
After a huge victory over then-No. 8 Florida to break coach Eli Drinkwitz’s nine-game losing streak against ranked opponents, No. 13 Mizzou football received a critical opportunity to capitalize on its success. The Tigers faced a Texas A&M team that has experienced a disappointing season when considering preseason expectations. The Aggies entered the contest against the Tigers with two Southeastern Conference losses, and Mizzou looked to make it three.
Sweet Homecoming! Mizzou earns long-awaited ranked win by bullying No. 8 Florida 45-17 Original
If Homecoming magic exists, Mizzou football found it against No. 8 Florida. It seemed as if the Tigers fixed virtually all of their issues, shocking the Gators 45-17 on Saturday in Columbia. The win marked No. 25 Missouri’s first against a top-10 Southeastern Conference opponent in the regular season since the Tigers defeated No. 7 Georgia in 2013. It also broke Drinkwitz’s curse of falling to ranked teams. His Tigers have not overcome a ranked foe since Sept.
Back and better than ever: Rodriguez imbues Mizzou's defense with strong work ethic Original
When Mizzou football met up with Virginia in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 27, 2025, linebacker Nick Rodriguez had himself a day. He recorded 15 tackles, which marked a career high, and added one pass breakup. Rodriguez deserved to celebrate, but he didn’t. The celebration was reserved for the Cavaliers, who defeated the Tigers 13-7. Rodriguez joined Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz and former Missouri center Connor Tollison in the postgame press conference. The mood was, understandably, glum.

New season, same problems: Mizzou continues to struggle in bigger matchups
Mizzou football has officially started Southeastern Conference play, with the Tigers falling 31-24 to then-No. 24 Mississippi State on Saturday in Starkville, Mississippi. It marks the 10th straight ranked opponent Missouri has fallen to, according to the Associated Press polls. A matchup that many would have circled as an “easier” win (if such a thing exists in the SEC) quickly became worrisome for the Tigers.

Trap evaded: After trailing Troy early, Mizzou pulls away to move to 3-0 Original
In a game where the past met the present, Mizzou football didn’t exactly show fans why they should be excited about the immediate future. The Tigers took on Troy in their final nonconference battle of the season Saturday, and while they won 27-17 at Memorial Stadium, the game was exactly that — a battle. Missouri had to overcome a 10-0 deficit, and even after it took the lead, it never really broke away.
Mizzou soccer falls 2-1 to Kentucky despite late rally Original
The last time Mizzou soccer faced Kentucky in 2025, the Wildcats came away with a 1-0 win. The Tigers hosted the Wildcats on Friday, and a similar story unfolded, with Missouri falling in a close 2-1 affair. The loss pushed Mizzou to a 0-2 Southeastern Conference record, but the Tigers had something to be proud of — an extremely last-minute rally. Trailing 2-0 with very little time remaining, Missouri got on the board in the 88th minute.
Memorial memories: Celebrating 100 years of impactful moments at Mizzou's home football stadium Original
When the completion of Memorial Stadium’s $250 million north end zone project was recognized Sept. 2, it was a bit anticlimactic. A comically large pair of scissors met a yellow ribbon, and in one swift motion, it was all said and done. The stadium improvements had officially been unveiled, and the very next day, the facility’s gates opened for Mizzou’s season debut against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. On that muggy day, it was hard to dwell on the heat.
