A convolution–attention network predicts boiler slagging and warns of waterwall overheating from the furnace temperature field
Abstract Slagging and wall-temperature overheating rank among the costliest threats to safe and economical coal-fired boiler operation, yet plants still diagnose them separately although both grow out of the same non-uniform furnace temperature field. This paper treats them jointly.
Undernutrition enhances host attractiveness to mosquitoes and transmission of mosquito-borne diseases
Abstract Undernutrition is prevalent in regions affected by mosquito-borne diseases. Understanding how insufficient nutrition affects the transmission of mosquito-borne pathogens is critical for combating these diseases. In this study, we found that undernourished mice were more attractive to multiple mosquito vectors.
Amide synthesis via molecular shuffling of carboxylic acids
Abstract The amide bond is fundamental in chemistry and biology and its classical construction from carboxylic acids and amines is limited by positional connectivity of the carboxylic acid group. Herein, we report an approach to amide synthesis that relies on molecular shuffling of carboxylic acid group.
A privacy-preserving data augmentation approach for credit card fraud detection
Abstract Credit card fraud detection faces a dual challenge: severe class imbalance (fraud rates < 0.2%) and strict privacy regulations preventing cross-institutional data sharing. Federated Learning (FL) allows multiple organizations to work together to train a common model while maintaining privacy.

Finite element investigation of TPMS-inspired microplate structures for mechanical stability enhancement in sports equipment
Abstract The development of lightweight but impact-resistant sports gear needs structural ideas that boost mechanical stability while also keeping good energy uptake characteristics. Here, we do a finite element look into TPMS inspired multilayer microplate designs under dynamic input, like real-time excitation.
De novo L-(+)-tartaric acid biosynthesis in multi-modular engineered yeasts
Abstract L-(+)-tartaric acid (L-TA) is a high-value chiral organic acid essential for food and pharmaceuticals. Despite its industrial importance, sustainable green production is constrained by the lack of a fully defined biosynthetic pathway. Here, we report the de novo biosynthesis of L-TA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae through reaction-guided enzyme mining, experimental validation, and Enzyme Commission-specific Catalytic Hybrid Optimizer (ECHO)-assisted enzyme prioritization.
A Programmable Calcification Nanoplatform for Loco-Regional Calcification-Immune Hepatocellular Carcinoma Therapy
1 Introduction Cancer research progresses from clinical observations to mechanistic understanding, which in turn lays the foundation for precision therapy. Recently, tumor calcification as a phenomenon frequently detected in computed tomography (CT) scans following radiotherapy or chemotherapy has emerged as a valuable marker for evaluating therapeutic efficacy [1, 2].

READER REPORT: Kayak angler beat odds and bests tanker white seabass off Gaviota
GAVIOTA GHOST – Long Liu with a white seabass of a lifetime. BY LONG LIU GOLETA – At 5 a.m. I dragged myself out of the tent, set up camp, and rigged the kayak. Despite my early start, I didn’t make it onto the water until 9:30 much later than planned. I launched into pretty big waves, five footers, but with good timing I made it out unscathed.

Advantages of magnetic compression in rat colonic anastomosis: a comparative study with a transcriptomic perspective
Abstract Colorectal anastomosis is a common procedure in colorectal cancer surgery, but traditional suturing is technically demanding and prone to complications. Magnetic compression anastomosis (MCA) offers a simpler, minimally invasive alternative with favorable outcomes. This study compares the healing effects of MCA and conventional suturing in rat colonic anastomosis and investigates the molecular mechanisms involved.
Vaccinia-related kinase 2 inhibition elicits vulnerability of glutathione metabolism in pancreatic cancer
|
Abstract Metabolic reprogramming has garnered significant attention in recent years due to its therapeutic potential in cancer treatment. However, identifying responsive tumor subpopulations remains a major obstacle in developing metabolism-targeted therapies, as metabolic vulnerabilities vary among cancers with different oncogene expression profiles.

Estimation and Testing in a Fixed Effects Panel Data Model With Serially Correlated Error Component Disturbances
1 Introduction Panel data models with serial correlation have been widely used in applications ranging from labour economics as in Lillard and Willis [1] to lottery sales in Wisconsin, see Frees and Miller [2]. For a textbook review dealing with serial correlation in an error component model, see Baltagi [3]. This paper revisits the fixed effects panel data model with AR(1) remainder disturbances considered by Bhargava et al. [4] and Baltagi and Li [5].

Catalytic ignition of N(CN)2- ionic liquid-H2O2 with zero-dimensional Cu-MOFs
Catalytic ignition of N(CN)2- ionic liquid-H2O2 with zero-dimensional Cu-MOFs Ionic liquid-H2O2 is one of the most important proposed systems for green propellants. However, as to its weak oxidizing ability, H2O2 can hardly ignite ionic liquids. Therefore, in this work, four potential low-dimensional metal-organic frameworks (Cu-MOFs 1-4) were first synthesized for the ignition of N(CN)2- ionic liquid-H2O2 system.

Laser-Assisted Fabrication of a 3D Cross-linked V2CTx/rGO Microelectrodes for High‐Rate Aqueous Zinc-Ion Microbatteries
Laser-Assisted Fabrication of a 3D Cross-linked V2CTx/rGO Microelectrodes for High‐Rate Aqueous Zinc-Ion Microbatteries The high safety, compatible device size, superior energy density, and cost efficiency make in-plane aqueous zinc-ion microbatteries (AZIMBs) as one of the most promising candidates for miniaturized energy storage. However, the inherent stacking structure within in-plane AZIMBs poses a hindrance to improving its energy density.
