Welcome to the heat dome! High pressure is building overhead and bringing warmer temperatures and sunnier skies. Temperatures will be hot for the next several days. We start the week in the low 90s but eventually climb to the upper 90s by next weekend. The bubble of high pressure will also keep away any chances for rainfall for the next week. Storm Track 3 Forecast: Storms stay south tonight, high pressure brings the heat

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for Kay County, Oklahoma, through 10 PM Saturday. Scattered showers moved through southern Kansas last night, helping to add to our monthly rainfall totals. Showers and storms will fester in Oklahoma this evening, with a few showers possible along the state line. Kay County, Oklahoma, has been included in the Marginal Risk today as one or two storms could be on the stronger side. High pressure then takes control into next week.

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Unsettled pattern arrives, storms possible tonight

Temperatures today will climb into the mid to upper 90s. Cloud cover will increase through the second half of the day as the dominant high-pressure system continues to retreat westward. Our next unsettled pattern arrives this evening, with a wave of energy tracking into western Kansas tonight and marching across the state through early Thursday morning.
