Introduction Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects more than 10% of the global population, constituting a public health burden with medical and financial implications [1]. CKD is defined by a decreased kidney function with a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 or by kidney damage for more than 3 months [1, 2]. Even mild forms of CKD are associated with adverse clinical outcomes, particularly of a cardiovascular nature [1, 3, 4].

Abstract Nextflow has emerged as a flexible and scalable workflow system for building computational pipelines in life sciences. Simultaneously, Software-as-a-Service platforms enable researchers to concentrate on data analysis rather than on setting up pipelines locally. However, converting existing pipelines into web services can be challenging due to complexities such as handling large datasets, web development and overall security.
