Prognosis of increasing percentages of lesional body surface area in early stage mycosis fungoides

Why was the study undertaken? Early-stage mycosis fungoides (MF) is typically an indolent disease. A cut-off at 10% lesional body surface area (BSA) has prognostic and therapeutic significance. The prognostic significance of more than 10% BSA in early-stage MF has not yet been investigated. What does this study add? An additional cut-off percentage of 40% of involved BSA is associated with reduced survival, particularly in patients with plaque-stage disease.
