Breanne Keane, 19, of Cayuga Heights. Police arrested 20-year-old Damian Stewart in connection with the May 23 killing of 19-year-old Breanne Keane. Keane was stabbed in her home in Cayuga Heights on Friday afternoon and died while being transported to the hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. at Keane’s home on Triphammer Road in Cayuga Heights, according to a media release from the Cayuga Heights Police Department.

In the coming months, the Enfield town board will consider restricting or banning data centers within the town’s borders. Board members are divided over to what degree the town should restrict data center development. At it May 13 meeting, the board passed a resolution written by councilperson Robert Lynch directing the planning board to review the resolution and make recommendations on next steps concerning data centers and cryptocurrency mining facilities.

On Tuesday, May 19, voters approved the Ithaca City School District’s proposed 2026-27 school budget, along with three other ballot propositions regarding capital reserve funds and capital projects. Voters elected one new member, one incumbent, and one former member to the board of education, according to preliminary results. Ithaca’s proposed $177.6 million school budget was approved by 75% of voters, with 2,669 ‘yes’ votes and 864 ‘no’ votes.
