KASSON — About five years ago, Kasson-Mantorville’s eighth-grade football team needed a quarterback. It turns out Logan Louks was the guy for the job. “My boys were like, ‘Yo, you can throw a good ball,’ so I decided to try it out that year, and just kind of stuck with it ever since,” Louks said. Louks has served in the QB role in one capacity or another since then, on junior varsity and as the varsity backup to recent K-M graduate Grady Babcock.

BYRON — On Saturday afternoon, the Rochester Youth Football Association Girls Flag Football team arrived at Mitchell-Cunningham Memorial Field behind Byron Middle School, ready to play the Byron Youth Football Association Girl Squad in its first game of the season. The sun was shining, and a slight breeze made for ideal football weather. The girls on the field, grades 4-6, were bubbling with excitement.
