As epidemiologists race to find more answers to the origin of the hantavirus outbreak on a cruise, they have ruled out some theories circulating online. Dr. Boris Pavlin, the team lead for field and humanitarian epidemiology at the World Health Organization, discussed the organization's current investigation into the outbreak with ABC News Sunday and stressed that while there are still unanswered questions, there are many clues that help to narrow down the origin.

Maggie Rulli, Dragana Jovanovic After the doctor on the cruise ship MV Hondius contracted the hantavirus, an American doctor onboard jumped into action to help passengers navigate the outbreak. Dr. Stephen Kornfeld, an oncologist from Bend, Oregon, told ABC News that he quickly realized he was leading the response to a full-blown medical crisis on board the cruise ship. The ship's unidentified doctor was among the six people onboard who tested positive for the virus.
