Listen: Monobloc ‘Love, I’m Gonna Jump the Gap’

Five-piece NYC-bred rockers Monobloc released its second EP, Love, I’m Gonna Jump the Gap, on Friday, April 24. The four-track love-sick release kicks off with the bustling, noisy “City,” an homage to our home base that instrumentally aligns with the electronic/rock sounds of the contemporary scene. It can fit nicely on a playlist amongst bands like Been Stellar, Croaker, and at times, singer Timothy Waldron’s gravelly howl sounds akin to Cameron Winter’s.

It’s already a feat to be a touring musician who travels via van with all that big, heavy gear in tow. Loading in, unloading, setting up, breaking down, and doing it all over again every night on the road. But when Rio Romeo told me they pack up their 64-key melodigrand piano in a van and take it on every tour across the country – that’s a next-level kind of love for the craft.
