Volodymyr gave an impassioned talk about his project in Ukraine to rehabilitate injured veterans, helping them get off the sofa and into sport. He showed photographs and videos of amputee veterans training, with some eventually winning and rejoicing at a boxing match! As a speaker, Volodymyr will also receive a donation from the club (the amount yet to be decided) for his excellent presentation for his club’s project.

Since it was established in 2004, the not-for-profit credit union has granted more than 13,000 loans worth £13.2 million and is forecast to lend over £1 million in new loans this year, according to a report presented to Tameside Council’s Executive Cabinet on 26 August. The credit union provides ethical and affordable financial services for people of all ages living or working in Tameside or Glossop, including savings accounts, low-interest loans and payroll deduction schemes.

Tameside Council has approved a cross-pavement charging policy which will unlock funding support from Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), for an initial trial phase of approximately 150 installations. Eligible residents living in terraced housing or other properties without usable off-street parking will have the opportunity to apply for a cross-pavement channel fitted outside their home. Successful applicants will need to pay a one-off £600 fee to cover maintenance over a 10-year period.
